Persephone Michou (1995) was born in Ioannina, Greece, and grew up in Athens. She started using the medium of photography at a young age. She studied Photography and Audiovisual Arts at the University of West Attica in Athens and the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest, Hungary. In 2020 her project "The Perfect Blue" was featured in Athens Photo Festival and one year later she produced her first solo exhibition at Aspalathos Art Space in Athens. Currently, she lives in the Netherlands where she is completing a master's programme in Arts, Culture & Media at the University of Groningen.
Persephone experiments with analogue photography and alternative techniques. The subjects she chooses to work with share a connection to her inner self and her past, while she is concerned with the notions of memory and time. Overall, she attempts to discover her identity through visual arts and explore new mediums of creation.
